What is Quality?

I’m pivoting to Freewriting Friday because writing a piece of flash fiction for a blog is time consuming. I’m currently worldbuilding for the new Life’s a Battle campaign and drafting fiction on top of things, so I want to keep the fiction bandwidth in those departments. That being said, the idea of Quality has completely stormed by brain.

I’ll write about this more coming up, but I’m working through Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig, and his diatribe on Quality has put my mind in overdrive. But I’m not feeling too guilty about writing today, and I’ve put in pages on projects. So, let’s keep it a real shorty today bb.

Here is your prompt: What is Quality?

Seems easy, but I think this is a fantastic Socratic question. Try stating your answer as clearly and simply as possible — the less qualifying you partake in the better. You may find that Quality is quite difficult to define.

Have an excellent weekend, and I hope you do something rad. Maybe this question will stick with you. And if it doesn’t, let me know your secret.

With raditude,

Kbizzle

  1. That’s a great quote. I find myself unable to define quality too. And worst is when I try to make myself write a ‘quality post’. Nowadays, I’m trying to get over that want for perfection and just make things. Anyway, thanks for this post!
